Do you all know that the first SMS(short message service) completes its 20th birthday today.
The first SMS was send on December 03 2012. Some funny things SMS.


  • The total number of mobile users holds about 87% of the total world population.
  • In 2011 a bulk total of 7.8 lakh cores of SMS had been send.
  • In 2012 it has increased to 9.6 lakh cores.
  • In china the total number of mobile users are 102.37 cores(76 % of population).
  • In India it is 91.92 cores(75 % of population).
  • Same in USA is 33.16 cores(105.8 of population).

Google allows 10 GB attachment from today

Do you all know one thing,from today on-wards  Google allows 10 GB of file attachment with email.
Before only 25 Mb is allowed,by hearing the prayers of business people and techies Google introduces this integration.
                                 Google Drive is the company's cloud storage service, similar to Microsoft SkyDrive and Drop Box.Google has only integrated Google Drive-based attachment feature in the new compose box.
                          Those who want to mail files bigger than 25MB in size need to transfer them to Google Drive in order to send them via Gmail.

How to Search Google Images by Fixed Size

For some times before Google offers image search by mentioning the Fixed Size.For that we can search an image by mentioning "search by size".Now this facility is removed from Google. Now it can only be performed using Advanced search.
To make more flexible this issue we can use a query to search images.That is by mentioning the query "IMAGESIZE:WIDTHXHEIGHT" in the search box and press enter.




e.g:- For getting the images of Pluto we can use Pluto imagesize:760X400;
that's enough it will only return the images with size 760X400. The above screen shot shows it clearly.

How to send large files using google docs

There are lot of complex situations arises in our daily busy work.One among them is sending large files through gmail.Because lot of other providers are there sending big files like Drop Box,ubuntu one,Amazon S3. But they are external networks.To get a complete sanctification we believe our own mail provider.Google Drive  is the one.

Steps Involved:

  1. Sign in to your google docs account(not required if you already signed in gmail,only click the above link)
  2. Do your work here.
  3. Attach it as an e-mail by selecting the share button.


How to listen online radio using VLC media player

The worlds famous media player supports lots of facilities.One among them is listening to an online radio.You can listen to some online radios by using some of these steps.There are two methods.It is same like  downloading youtube videos using VLC .

Method 1:

  1. Open VLC media player.
  2. Select media drop down menu.
  3. Open Network stream.
  4. Enter the URL of the particular station.
  5. Select play.
It will play the songs of the URL mentioned Radio Station.

Method 2:

  1. Open VLC media player.
  2. Select View->playlist.
  3. Under additional resources select Internet.
  4. Select one radio directory from the list.
  5. Select any one station and now you can listen the music of the particular station.
Advantages of method 2 over method 1:
  • You can select any one station from the list.
  • more advanced.
